For sale here at Nate’s Classic Cars is an ultra desirable 1970 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertibile 4 speed. The 1970 Shelby is one of the most interesting automobiles of its time due to it being the only car produced that was ever allowed to be changed from one year to the next (1969 to 1970). The 1970 Shelby was also the only Ford car ever to go into three different assembly plants (Ford Dearborn, A.O. Smith Plant, and Kar Kraft Plant). After leaving Ford Dearborn the 1969 Shelby went to A.O. Smith where they assembled all the fiberglass used on the Shelbys including: fenders, headlight buckets, valance, end caps, and deck lid. Following the A.O. Smith Plant the left over 1969 Shelbys then headed to Kar Kraft where they received the 1970 conversions: Twin Black Hood Stripes, Unique Front Spoiler, Distributors - GT 500 4 Speed Had Dual Point, Automatic Choke Carburetor to a Manual, Manual Choke Cable Added, Tire and Choke Decal, Dash Serial Number Tag, Door Serial Number Tag to Decal, All Glove Box Papers, and Window Sticker and Invoices.

This particular 1970 Shelby (0F03R483153) was built on June 12, 1969 and was ordered loaded down with 13 options: White Power Top With Glass Backlite, Four-Speed Close Ratio Transmission, Traction Loc Differential, Visibility Group, Goodyear Brand Name Tires, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Away Steering Wheel, Interior Decor Group-Deluxe, AM/FM Radio, Tinted Glass - Complete, Deluxe Seat Belts and Warning Light, and Competition Suspension. It was built in the very desired Competition Red With Interior and White Top and was just one of twenty one to be finished with that special paint code. The GT500 four speed convertible is documented one of one with the following paint/trim codes and select options.
